The Moment That Changed Everything
It wasn’t until our fourth child was about nine months old that I felt the nudge.
I remember sitting in the pediatrician’s office, holding my baby, when something in my spirit felt unsettled. Up to that point, we had followed the schedule without hesitation. That day, something told me to pause. To ask questions. To dig deeper. To understand why our third child used to do all normal social interactions until shortly after his 18 month visit.

From Blind Trust to Informed Choice
That quiet moment led to hours, days of research. I started reading actual vaccine inserts, looking into ingredients, and exploring voices outside the mainstream.
This post isn’t here to argue it’s simply to explain why we said no to certain vaccines. It wasn’t about fear. It was about understanding what was being given to our children and deciding whether or not it aligned with our values, faith, and research.
Letting Faith Guide Our Parenting Decisions
One of the most important parts of our decision was prayer. We asked the Lord to guide our parenting, our health decisions, and how to steward our children’s bodies. It wasn’t an overnight answer but slowly, clarity came.
When our fifth baby was born at home, it marked a fresh start. No bright lights or interruptions just peace and full trust in the natural process. From the beginning, we chose not to vaccinate, and we did so with complete peace.
This was not reactionary. This was intentional. It was the culmination of what God had shown us over the years and it’s one of the core reasons why we said no to certain vaccines in our family.
What We Believe Now
We still love and respect doctors. We seek care when needed. But we also believe parents have the right and responsibility to ask questions and make informed decisions.
Not vaccinating our youngest was not a rejection of medicine it was a personal, prayerful choice. One that looked different from the path we started on but felt so clearly aligned with the convictions God placed on our hearts.
For the Mama Who’s Unsure
If you’re feeling that nudge too, here’s what I would gently suggest:
- Don’t rush.
- Read the actual inserts.
- Look at multiple sources.
- Pray for clarity.
- Trust that God will lead you, even if your decision looks different than someone else’s.
There’s no shame here just grace. This is simply our story about why we said no to certain vaccines.
