Does my healthy child need a well-child check?

This is one of those topics that are controversial, on either side of things. On one hand, if you follow the “childhood schedule” you’ll be at the doctor’s office a lot in your child’s first years of life. Not just for check-ins but mostly to just administer said shots. So it could cause you to come in contact with a lot more germs. But if you don’t follow said schedule, then you probably even wonder what’s the point in having a doctor for your child?

Child Well Checks

Well, we do yearly check-ups. I like to A) Keep an established doctor for anything that might arise and B) to have an outsider look at my children to make sure in the day to day I didn’t miss anything important.

Their primary doctor believes in parental choice and choosing the less toxic way of life. This doctor sees and treats holistically but also will use allopathic treatments when needed. The kid’s doctor sits with you as though you are friends chatting about your child. They do not act someone who has authority over you and your child.

We also utilize chiropractic care for the whole family. Through research and experience we have found that when properly aligned your body works more efficiently. When sick, getting properly adjusted also helps fight your illness quicker. Your body as a whole needs to be aligned to be the best version of yourself.

Our youngest saw the chiropractor from when I was pregnant with him. My labor was a total of 45 minutes from start to finish. Then he went within the first week of his life. The pressure of birth on a baby’s spine is huge! They also spotted his tongue tie which then after being released made for a much better breastfeeding journey.

Don’t just establish with anyone

Even if you don’t follow the schedule from the C D C, it is beneficial to have your child established for their care. Find someone who will fight for you when your child needs to be hospitalized (that’s a whole other story). Someone who sees you as the parent and will talk with you as a friend. Someone who gets just as excited as you do when your child meets or exceeds their IEP goals.

Doctors are humans, find one who feels like a friend.
